about my zen closet
What is my zen closet and what do we do?
At my zen closet we are aimed at helping you achieve a state of zen by being minimal and mindful about the clothes and accessories in your closet. For this we will help you build a streamlined and rationalized capsule wardrobe (or closet) with versatile and personalised outfits that suit you and help you look your best.
Do you have human stylists?
Yes, my zen closet currently has human stylists. We are building a technology footprint, to ensure we can provide our service to more people with the exact level of personalization as a human stylist.
our process
What is my role in this process?
This entire process is about you. Your wishes, your preferences, and your zen closet. We are there only to guide you and set up a recurring process. You would need to help us with as much information about yourself as possible (read more here) and just be patient and cooperative throughout the process.
On what criteria are the outfits picked?
We use our unique SCRUBS framework that we apply. It is detailed, yet personalized and will enable you to be more mindful about your fashion choices. SCRUBS is an abbreviation for Style Personality, Context, Routine, Undertone, Body Type, and Colour Scheme. Read more about our process here.
What is the duration of the process?
We would need you commit a total of about 8+ hours over the span of one week. You can read more about our process here.
How many meetings will it take?
This process takes two face to face meetings. The first one will be to understand your current and aspirational clothing choices, for which we will be conducting a wardrobe audit (read more here) and the second one is where we will discuss our final recommendations with you (read more here). If needed, we will schedule online meetings well in advance.
Do I have to buy whatever you recommend?
The cost of the styling service will only cover the styling sessions, discussions and recommendations. You are not obligated to buy anything from our recommendations, but if you do pick up something, we will sweeten the deal with some amazing promotions!

What is a capsule wardrobe?
A capsule wardrobe is a collection of fewer and essential (but versatile) clothing items that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of looks. The goal is to have a streamlined wardrobe with pieces that complement each other, making it easier to create stylish looks with fewer items. Shopping and dressing up will transform into a mindful experience when you know what you have, and what works for you. Of course you should splurge on those expensive boots once in a while – a capsule wardrobe will only help you make that yes/no decision a mindful and deliberate one.
How many pieces does it contain?
Commonly capsule wardrobes have anywhere from 30-50 pieces. However, a capsule wardrobe can have as many or as few clothes that work for you and your lifestyle. That is why we assess your routine in detail, so that we can bring the number of pieces to a manageable number. Eventually we will aim to bring that number between 30 and 50 pieces, but we do realize that it is not easy to discard, donate or rehome clothes. So we will start off slow by discarding old pieces and just decreasing the number of pieces every few months while also increasing the number of outfits you can create with each piece.
Do I need to discard pieces?
While it might not be necessary to discard outfits, you do need to consider keeping aside pieces that might not align with the concept of a capsule wardrobe as it might not be versatile enough to be styled with different outfits. How often do I need to update my capsule wardrobe?
The ideal duration to update your capsule wardrobe is around 3-4 months, typically syncing with the seasons and temperatures. Initially it will seem daunting, but with time, it will just become a part of you.
